Hello,
Included with the Twitter-Widget-Pro plugin, there is a .pot file which we can use to translate the plugin. After translation, what are we supposed to do with the .pot file, the create the corresponding .po and .mo files?
Regards

I honestly don't do much translation (English is unfortunately my only language). My understanding is that you use the .pot file to create a .po file. Then you turn the .po file into a .mo file. You can drop the .mo file into the Twitter Widget Pro 'languages' directory and it will automatically start working (assuming it's named properly like twitter-widget-pro-es_ES.mo).
If you make a new translation, please send it to me so I can include it in the distribution!

I created the .po and .mo files now, and uploaded them to the twitter-widget-pro/languages/ folder I used "poedit" to create the files, however my translation does not work.
Do I need to activate it somehow.
Apart from that You can obtain them from here: http://files.doublejweb.net/tw…..-nl_NL.zip

Is your blog set up to use nl_NL as the language?

"Is your blog set up to use nl_NL as the language?"
I checked again and noticed that the dutch version uses the "nl" string rather then "nl_NL", so after I changed the filename, it worked.
PS: I updated the translation a bit as there was a small typo.

Does the link above have the latest files that are correctly named?

That is the issue a bit with the translation.
I first use the seperate translation from wordpress.com, which is named nl_NL and thus is the same as how all the other languages are called.
But now I use the automatic update, which uses just "nl" rather then "nl_NL" for some reason, which is a bit odd, as most plugins and all other languages use the lang_LANG postfix.
With that said I cannot confirm that it is named correctly, as the dutch version uses 2 name convensions.
