Is there some reason that the rich text editor in WP, even when used in only HTML mode, adds <p> tags in the middle of my post when it renders on the page? They aren't visible in the HTML view, only rendered. I'm trying to embed a configuration javascript to use the Flowplayer flash player (http://flowplayer.org/tools/fl…..embed.html). – do you have any experience using this with WP btw?

I did get around this for now by compacting the script to remove extra lines and line breaks, but my script is still not running, maybe a separate issue. I do have the same script running on an HTML page all by itself.

The p tags actually aren't added by the visual editor.  They're added by a function called wpautop, and they're added when a post is dispalyed (as opposed to before it goes into the database).  There are some WordPress plugins that will allow you to turn that off on a per-post basis.
