Auto-insertion places Related Posts above post pagination

The way my theme uses pagination, using the auto-insert option for Related Posts puts my individual post page numbers below the links:

I realize that I can turn off auto-insertion for RP and just insert

<?php wp_related_posts(); ?> manually where I want the links to show up. I tested this by turning off auto-insertion and placing that code after my pagination code:

<?php wp_link_pages(); ?> in single.php, and it worked fine. The problem is that I would then have to manually insert

<?php wp_related_posts(); ?> in a few places to get Related Posts on the front page, search results, etc.Is there an easier way around this?

I'm figuring this out as I go so I don't know where to insert

<?php wp_related_posts(); ?> for front page, search results, archives, etc.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, not sure how to put that code in a post without it breaking the post up like that.

I'm figuring out the manual route, but the links don't display indented with a circle before each one, which looks nicer than a simple line break.

If there is a way to retain the formatting seen with autoinsertion (indents, bullets), when inserting the code manually into archives.php, search results.php, etc., this would solve my problem.

There is no differnece between the code inserted automatically, and the code inserted with the manual call.  The only difference would be if you put it in a different part of your theme (like outside some spcific div or something) and different styles were attached.

Upset at my slow responses recently? Please read my explanation.
