I have a question about referrals for my wordpress blog. This might be more of a PHP question than a wordpress question. After I manage to add the field to the sign-up page where the user can add a referral ID, how do I add the functionality where that referral ID can be inserted automatically in the sign-in page? I know that in PHP you can add strings at the end of a URL like?this or like?this=that but how does one make sure that this translates to a string being added to a field in the web page?

Hi there--I downloaded and installed your Twitter plug in and selected the option for "never" in terms of seeing timestamps, but they still appear. I'd also like to avoic putting in the line "from" each time---I want a more streamlined look for the tweets. Can you help?

What would be especially useful is if I got a notice that this happened as well. Perhaps in the form of an email to me.

I am not sure if this is a plug-in issue or not.

In the BBPress FORUM dashboard, I found under settings, "WordPress Integration".

I did everything I thought I should do.. Still, it does not seem that when a blog is made there is an automatic form addition. Isn't that how this is supposed to work? It seems it is just cookie settings and sharing user ID and passwords

Making a new Blog post does not create a new forum topic. Shouldn't it?

Creating a new catagory in the Blog does not create a new forum group in the bbpress forum. Shouldn't it?

How do I set up WordPress Registering to Require Admin Approval?

How do I set up my WordPress Blog so that when a user Registers, the notification goes to me instead of to the user ? I guess it goes to both. But here is why I ask this question. Suppose I want the ability to choose if someone can or cannot register. How can I set up the system such that I first see who has registered and then choose to allow or disallow them registration?

Twitter Widget Pro doesn't use bit.ly for anything. All URLs (no matter what domain they are at) are turned into links when displayed in the widget.

Bit.ly now has bit.ly pro that allows you to buy a custom short domain and use that for your shortening url.

How would I modify the twitter widget pro plugin to be able to select my custom url instead of the defaults that are available now?

As for how to learn, I don't know of any good books (they become outdated so fast), but I'd recommend finding other good plugin developers, and reading posts from their sites. Look at some of the more popular plugins, and then go to the plugin author's pages and read up.

I'm looking at the code in dreamweaver cs4, and line 397 is blank on my end. However on 392 is this code -->

$related_post->permalink = get_permalink($related_post->ID);

Is this the line of code to change? Also, if I only wanted to limit the title to say 37 characters how do I code it? Thank you so much for this plugin, as it is just what I'm looking for- espec if I can get this titles to cooperate!

Currently there's no good way to do this. However, you can look at line 397 of efficient-related-posts.php and change it to shorten the title.
